We are actively seeking a dynamic and self-motivated professional with a robust work ethic to assume the role of Vice President, Regional Line Manager for Professional Liability. This position holds responsibility for steering the single risk strategy across the Americas in the evolving landscape of our newly established business unit. The ideal candidate should possess a diverse skill set spanning underwriting, relationship management, and policy forms due to the multifaceted nature of this role.


  • Manage the day-to-day operations of single risk underwriting in the Americas, aligning with and executing the Professional Liability strategy.
  • Exceed financial targets, encompassing profitability, expenses, and premiums, contributing positively to the portfolio's overall results.
  • Collaborate with the Global Specialty Lines (GSL) to refine underwriting methodologies for Professional Liability and related product lines in the Americas.
  • Develop policy forms, ensuring compliance with all State requirements for admitted or non-admitted insurance, in coordination with the insurance operations filing team.
  • Operate within delegated authority levels, handling assignments of higher technical complexity and coordination.
  • Cultivate relationships with distribution partners across the Americas, actively seeking new business opportunities on targeted companies.
  • Collaborate with other Specialty underwriters in the Americas for comprehensive "all lines" whole account solutions.
  • Work in tandem with E&O teams in London and Paris and proactively manage the portfolio, making necessary adjustments for long-term profitability.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (brokers) to support business retention and acquisition.
  • Stay abreast of legal, regulatory, and industry trends affecting the Professional Liability line of business.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. MBA is desired but not required.
  • 10+ years of successful underwriting in Professional Liability and related lines, with a proven track record of profitability.
  • Strong relationships with distribution partners across the USA.
  • Accountability, teamwork, business acumen, effective communication (oral & written), self-starting attitude, flexibility, time management, strong ethics.
  • Capacity to lead and motivate others as the business expands.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strategic planning capabilities.
  • Insurance industry designations (RPLU, etc.) desired but not required.

Location and Compensation

  • This position reports on a hybrid basis to offices located in either New York, NY or Chicago, IL.
  • The salary range is $220,000 - $260,000 per year, with additional rewards including annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as location, experience, role, and performance.
