Our client is a large Insurance carrier who require an Underwriter to assist with the management of a large book of UK & International midmarket/corporate casualty business. This role will suit someone who has specific knowledge of this class of business and ideally a proven track record of making thorough class specific underwriting decisions.
The book is large enough to support a team of Underwriters and there are Senior Underwriters who can offer their support and technical knowledge. You will need to have a proven knowledge of relevant market conditions for the specific class/portfolio and an intermediate level understanding of relevant software including Excel and other relevant software packages. You will also need a high level of numeracy and literacy skills with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Previous knowledge and use of risk profiling and pricing tools / loss models would be of benefit, as would strong established customer/broker relationships.
This role could represent an opportunity for an Assistant Underwriter to step up into a role that offers more responsibility and scope for progression.
