  • As a Commercial Property Underwriting Team Lead, your primary role entails developing a profitable portfolio while guiding and mentoring a team of underwriters and assistants. You will focus on evaluating risk acceptability, setting prices, nurturing agency relationships, and enhancing underwriting processes within Commercial Lines. Alongside your underwriting responsibilities, you will lead the Commercial Property team, providing coaching and support to enhance their performance and skills. Collaboration with department leaders to innovate underwriting frameworks and product offerings is also pivotal.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and manage a substantial portfolio of Middle Market Commercial Property business.
  • Support the Head of MMB in overseeing MMB's underwriting operations.
  • Collaborate with other business units to prioritize projects and enhance underwriting efficiency.
  • Meet with brokers and producers to establish business relationships.
  • Lead and guide a team of underwriters and assistants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of commercial insurance experience.
  • Professional insurance designations preferred.
  • Prior management and leadership experience.

Location and Compensation

  • Location: Nashville, TN, Chicago, IL, Atlanta, GA, or Birmingham, AL (Hybrid: 2 days remote, 3 days in office)
  • This role is eligible for a compensation range between $135,000 and $180,000 with targeted bonuses between 25%-40%. These ranges are based on individual candidate's experience.
