Compliance Assistant Manager / Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide advisory to the business regarding rules and standards, proper codes of conduct
• Update Compliance policies, procedures, codes and guidelines on a regular basis to ensure the appropriateness and fit-for-purpose of these standards and to propose amendments as required. Complete gap analysis and assessments with respect to internal policies and standards
• Coordinate with business units in the submission of surveys and enquires received from regulators
• Conduct compliance testing programs, self-assessments and compliance review on selected business areas
• Review and follow up non-compliance / significant incidents for regulatory reporting
• Conduct relevant training for staff and regular induction training for new staff
• Investigate and clear AML related pre and post trade alerts generated from internal filtering systems. Review transactions and raise any suspicious or fraudulent transactions as necessary for reporting to the relevant regulators
• Undertake second line review of CDD files completed by Client Onboarding Team (COB). Advice COB and lines of business on internal policy and local regulatory requirements on CDD
• Assist in periodic reporting to and liaison with the Regional and Global Office

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following requisites:

• Degree in Law, Finance, Business, or relevant field
• At least 3-4 years' relevant experience in compliance department of a bank or authorized / licensed financial institution; or a professional legal or audit / accountancy firm with banking or financial services compliance / regulatory advisory experience
• Ability to organize well, attend to details, work under pressure
• Positive attitude with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English
