Job Description

A boutique Mayfair based private equity firm is looking to appoint a Financial Controller to manage all accounting, reporting and analysis for their corporate entities. This senior and highly business facing position would be an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety in a busy and dynamic operating environment. The company are a relatively new fund with a small finance team and open plan and sociable office with a collegiate and down to earth culture. They’ve successfully raised and closed several funds and have been growing consistently since inception with around 50 people in the office altogether.

Reporting into the CFO, this role will focus on all core company accounting, from usual month end activities to taking ownership for all financial and management accounting, Board packs and analysis and oversight of all VAT and corporate tax matters. This is a real end to end position covering absolutely everything and anything in finance with the likelihood that you’ll also get involved in plenty of ad hoc project work related to the portfolio. In particular the CFO is looking for someone who can help tweak and upgrade the quality of analysis in the monthly management accounts and Board pack. You’ll be supported in your role by a junior finance person who is responsible for the basic transactional and book keeping work but you need to also be comfortable rolling up your sleeves where necessary.

The likely candidate will be a qualified accountant with preferably initial training in practice followed by relevant hands on experience in an SME organisation covering both financial and management accounting. Prior experience in private equity or financial services is not necessary and the CFO is open minded to people from commerce and industry.
