  • Reporting Line: UK CEO
  • To ensure the organisation remains compliant in respect of financial crime and market abuse.
  • As the MLRO conduct ‘Financial Crime’ (FC) and Market Abuse related surveillance on all aspects of operations.
  • Promote and embed compliance and TCF culture throughout the organisation.
  • Oversee the review of the suite of surveillance reports and design and introduce improvements as necessary.
  • Review and updating the relevant policies and procedures in relation to financial crime, market abuse, anti-bribery and corruption (including policy on Gifts and Inducements), personal account dealing
  • Provide considered advice to the business as required.
  • Monitor financial crime and market abuse training including maintaining records, content update and delivering training where necessary (specifically AML and CFT, Fraud, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Market Abuse and Sanctions).
  • As the MLRO, represent the financial crime team at internal and external meetings.
  • Produce reports for Management Information.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory developments and current affairs concerning sanctions, anti-money laundering and terrorist financing, legal and regulatory obligations under the money laundering regulations, proceeds of crime act, serious organised crime, market abuse, anti-bribery and corruption.
  • Conduct internal and external investigations.
  • Identifying and reporting suspicious activity to the NCA.
  • Identifying and reporting STORs to the FCA.
  • Conducting annual risk assessments.
  • Approval of increased risk clients.
  • Final approval of sanctions queries.
  • Prepare and present the MLRO Report.
  • Deliver financial crime update and MI to the Board of Directors including notifications of any breaches and any regulatory developments and updates.
  • Development of the financial crime team, including maintenance of the financial crime resource and the setting of objectives and appraisals.
  • Support the ongoing relationship including any communication with the regulatory authorities, and ensure that the systems and controls are fit for purpose.
