The Company

This is a superb senior level opportunity at a highly entrepreneurial Alternative Asset Manager with a number of active funds that invest into liquid and illiquid markets. They have grown significantly in the last 10 years and are now pushing heavily in the credit space, investing specifically in performing and non-performing retail and corporate portfolios.

Job Description

Owing to a successful fund raise and increase in AUM, this newly created position is a key senior appointment reporting into the FD and designed to oversee a small funds finance team who look after all finance, operations and middle office activities for the firms UK and European credit funds. The company outsources as much as possible with the aim of keeping the value add in-house and the primary role of this individual will be to provide day to day technical expertise and leadership to a funds finance team in addition to being the main middle office "go-to" for a host of internal and external stakeholders.

Specifically, this will include:

  • Lead the credit funds finance team and associated entities in the UK, Europe and Luxembourg
  • This will include oversight of all fund financials, transaction support and structuring (in conjunction with advisors), valuations and financial modelling
  • Manage the liquidity of the Funds including liaising with external finance providers and investors
  • Involvement in a host of ad hoc project work in support of the investment team

The Candidate

The ideal person will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/CA preferred or equivalent) with extensive funds finance experience and understanding of credit products. This experience is likely to have been gained in a credit or hedge fund, service provider/servicing business or larger corporate that purchases credit or debt portfolios. You will have an excellent academic record and be technically strong with an approachable and adaptable personality and inquisitive mindset. Longer term this role will develop and grow in responsibility and is likely to evolve into a chunkier position quickly with future fund raises already on the agenda.
