Our client is a unique and independent insurance entity with an entrepreneurial spirit and market leading data & analytics capabilities. In this role, the successful candidate will work alongside a unique and experienced broking team, in a hands-on market-facing role. The role will assist in the specific carrier placement of a portfolio of underwriting risks in the US and UK/Internationally.
Duties will require someone to take part in high-quality carrier presentations and demonstrate new underwriting opportunities to carrier partners. The role will require analysis of underwriting performance data related to various insurance products. This will suit a highly analytical individual who can understand underwriting strategies and underwriting performance of complex short and long tail classes of business.
It is expected that any candidate will be highly numerate, literate and can articulate with colleagues and carrier partners to facilitate in the placement of interesting and complex risks. The role will suit someone who has reinsurance treaty or MGA broking experience. A sound understanding of actuarial techniques and methodologies used to generate ultimate loss ratios is also preferable. Therefore, this might suit someone from a pricing or actuarial background but of equal importance is someone who is a good team player with excellent Excel and Power Point skills.
