Our client is looking for an Underwriter to join an established Property Underwriting team that serves medium to large UK and Irish corporates and their brokers. In order to further strengthen their underwriting capability, they are searching for a Senior Property Underwriter with recognised experience and visibility in the UK commercial insurance market, a successful track-record in underwriting medium and larger corporate business, experience in leading primary property programmes including multi-national programmes, a strong broker and client network and an entrepreneurial mind-set who will enable them to profitably expand the portfolio by utilising their technical underwriting skills.
The role may offer the potential to develop into an Underwriting Manager role in the longer term, but the individual has to initially prove themselves by running the operational element of the book, which mainly consists of portfolio management.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in underwriting of medium to large corporates including in a lead capacity. Experience in lines other than property would be an advantage and a strong broker and client network is also highly valued.
