Report to senior regional legal counsel, this role helps to identify, manage and mitigate the legal risks associated with our business operations.
Key responsibilities will include
- Project support,
- Contract review – confidentiality agreements and services agreements,
- Transactional support, including new business partner transactions, drafting and negotiating key agreements with counterparties,
- Participating in new product development, including insurance policy forms,
- Documentation review, including marketing materials,
- Developing and maintaining standard templates,
- Legal entity structuring – shareholder relationships, corporate structure, intra-group reorganizations,
- Working closely with compliance to ensure compliance with new laws and regulations,
- General legal advice to management and business,
- Manage external counsel engagements.
Required qualifications:
- University law degree and admitted to practice as a lawyer, preferably in a common law jurisdiction (e.g. Hong Kong, Australia, England, Singapore, US or Canada).
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally including both international law firm and in-house experience with an international financial services organization (insurance/banking).
- Flexible team player, strategic-thinker, solutions-oriented, problem solver.
- Excellent interpersonal, communications & presentation skills (oral and written).
- Ability to interface effectively with clients, other departments, diverse cultures and all levels within the organization in multiple jurisdictions.
